Day 3

Day 3

Yesterday, our team spent the morning doing various construction projects. We had several building walls, using saws, and building support beams for the roof. We worked so hard and got a huge amount of the church built just in one morning. After lunch, our team went out to do our first sports ministry clinic with the focus being basketball. We had about 20 young adult guys come out to play basketball with us. After 2 hours of trying to keep up with them, we stopped and our team performed the Redeemer skit and presented the Gospel through sketch board. After so many days of rehearsal, they did such a phenomenal job. I really think they just keep getting better and better and are starting to own their parts.

In the evening, we went to a local park and we did worship, the Redeemer skit, and the Gospel through sketch board in the center square. I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of our students. They are really making the most of each opportunity and embracing the reason why they are here. During the salvation prayer, one young boy gave his life to Christ and walked forward. He was immediately connected with local people from the Dominican Republic that will get him connected to a church. It was such a great moment... because, each and every time, we are praying for just the one. On this night, his name was Miguel.
