How early can I check in my child?
Our kids’ ministry check in stations will be available 30 minutes prior to the start of services; however, our classrooms are not open for child drop-off until 15 minutes prior to the start of services.
Who are my child’s teachers?
All of our adult kids’ disciple makers (volunteers) are Southbrook members or regular attendees who have completed a background check. We adhere to the “Two Deep Rule” which requires two adult volunteers in each classroom at all times.
What is your well child policy?
It is our desire to provide a healthy and safe environment for all of the children at Southbrook Church. Parents are encouraged to be considerate of other children when deciding whether to place a child under our care. We cannot accept children who exhibit any of the following within the 48 hour period prior to service:
Fever, diarrhea, nausea, scarlet fever, or vomiting within the last 48 hours;
Discoloration of discharge of the nose and eyes;
Croup, thrush, pink eye, chicken pox, unexplained rash;
Lice (A staff member will need to check the child for head lice before returning into the classroom. If a nit or lice is still present, the child will not be able to enter the classroom)
Measles, strep throat, poison ivy;
Eye or skin infections; and/or
Other symptoms of communicable or infectious disease.
Children who are observed by our workers to be ill will be separated from other children, and the parent or guardian will be contacted to request that the child be picked up immediately.
Environment Placement & Promotion Sunday
We follow Union County Public School's birthday cut-off. Children will be place in their specific environments based upon their age as August 31st or their grade as of the current school year.
Promotion Sunday is when we move children up to their new environments. This, typically, takes place, yearly, on the Sunday of the week school begins.
