Congregations For Kids is a non-profit organization in the greater Charlotte area. Congregations For Kids empowers the Church and community to champion lasting resilience for kids experiencing foster care. They provide pathways for churches, businesses, families, and individuals to: Foster, Mentor, Serve, and Give.

Volunteer Ages:  All ages / Groups / Families / High School
Volunteer Needs: There are a number of volunteer positions and events available for people to serve in. Congregations For Kids has general volunteer opportunities throughout the year that include event support, administrative tasks, consultation, and more. Volunteer events may include a variety of tasks, including inventorying donated items, stuffing gift bags, assembling gifts, serving at events, and more! They also have three main, ongoing opportunities to serve:

Socialight - Through our Socialight program, CFK supports and encourages child welfare professionals and volunteer advocates year-round. Join our Socialight Team to help with appreciation tasks and events as your schedule allows.

Mentor - Mentoring through CFK gives older youth in foster care the opportunity to connect with someone who will walk alongside and support them through the challenges and transitions they will experience on their journey to adulthood. It is a time for each youth to experience authentic connections, have no-strings-attached fun, and be with people who are interested in their well-being.

Prayer Team - We believe that prayer is part of the foundation of our work – in fact, it IS the work! We are grateful for your commitment to join us in prayer and to rejoice over all the Lord is doing through Congregations For Kids.
