Volunteer Opportunities

The Community Shelter of Union County provides emergency shelter, food, and rehousing for those in need. In Union County, the number of our neighbors living at or below the poverty line, paired with the lack of affordable housing, are the primary causes of people experiencing an episode of homelessness and the need for meals and other daily provisions.
Volunteer Ages:  All ages / Groups / Families
Volunteer Needs:  The primary need for volunteers is through their food services. This includes preparing and serving meals provided three times a day at the shelter, serving with their drive-through pantry each month in the parking lot of the Community Shelter, and an extra monthly food box program for low-income senior adults.
