7 Days of Prayer
One of our values is Prayerful Dependence. We will be a people who prayerfully seek God for the things only He can do so that He gets the glory. During the week of September 8, we are inviting the church to come together for intentional prayer over our community, our nation, the upcoming election, and the upcoming ministry year. On Sunday, September 8, we will begin our prayer within each service. On Monday - Friday, we are coming together in the main worship center for a pastoral devotion and guided prayer from 6-7am. We will wrap up the week on Saturday, September 14 with some ideas and suggestions for prayer from home.
Saturday's Prayer Guide
Prayer Focus:
- Making a big deal of Jesus where you live, learn, work and play.
Scripture Reading:
- Luke 8:4-8; 11-15
Reflection and Prayer:
- Pray for God to bring to mind specific people where you live, learn, work, and play who are represented by each type of soil.
- Pray for those people by name, asking God to bring them to a place of receptivity-to and growth in the Gospel.
- Pray for specific opportunities for you personally to share, demonstrate and encourage them in the Gospel through your words and actions.
Activity Suggestions:
- Have your reflection and prayer time with a group; for example, as a family around the table before or after a meal.
- Go for a prayer walk in your neighborhood, actively looking for conversations to engage in and/or ways you can be a blessing.
- Go for a prayer walk at a local school, specifically praying that the light of believing administrators, educators and students will shine brightly in that place.
