Joe felt the call to missions at an early age. God has fueled that fire over the years via a youth pastor and rooming with two missionary kids during his time at university. Joe works as Director of Resources and Innovations of International Media Services. He provides vision and leadership for media development and services to language programs worldwide. All of this is to broaden the impact of Bible translations. This can be done through biblically accurate media, culturally acceptable, and owned by the local people. This also includes empowering nationals with the skills necessary to increase the impact of Scriptures in languages that communicate best in each context. International Media Services (IMS) exists to communicate the translated message of God's love in forms that language communities can understand and access. The Gospel can be communicated through audio recordings, dubbed videos, storytelling, animation, music, drama, and dance in the local styles. The expanding use of computers, netbooks, or mobile devices to access the Internet poses a different challenge. Worldwide, for the 3.5 billion people with Internet access, websites, and mobile phone apps are critical features for encouraging the use of Scripture. Developing these media advances takes studios, training, equipment, and innovation.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray that the recent recordings of Scripture in Choctaw will take root when they receive them.
  • Pray that God would provide the remaining 10% of our financial needs. Praise God for the increase to 90% that He has already provided.
  • Pray for open doors for the gospel in our neighborhood as we seek to build relationships with our neighbors.
